Why lg refrigerator ice maker not filling with water. Thus all the functions are there but it won t cycle on its own. My lg lfx25991st refrigerator ice maker is not dumping ice. Is there a reset some where i have turned the ice maker on and off as well as unpluged the frig severa read more.

If i press and hold the reset button on the bottom of the icemaker only while the tray is moving then it will dump the ice return to the proper position and fill with water as it should. Completely functioning ice maker in all other ways making ice but suddenly just stopped dumping it into the bin. I have used the reset button and ice maker will rotate and dump ice once but that is it. See the image below.

Check the display of the refrigerator to see if there is an ice on ice off icon. The switch can be checked for continuity with an ohm meter. If the ice maker is turned off turn it on and allow 24 hours for ice production to begin. Without filter or when the filter installed not properly in the filter housing water will not flow to the ice maker and water dispenser.

When the freezer door is opened the freezer door switch does two things it turns on the light in the freezer and turns off the ice maker and dispenser. I have completed all lg recommended trouble shooting. Water filter if during the test mode your ice maker didn t fill with water then check your water filter.
