Led Garage Door Interference

Led lights can indeed interfere with garage door openers but a majority of instances are when an improper bulb is located within the garage.

Because these two devices use frequencies that intersect they can interfere with each other. Led lights have drivers inside the bulbs which produce a field that interferes with the garage door preventing the door from opening. An led bulb can interfere with the radio control signals so the door will not open reliably when activated by the radio control transmitter. If you are old enough to remember the days a fluorescent light fixture interfered with an am fm radio you will understand.

Well the fact is a little shielding inside the led can keep most of the radio frequency interference rfi from escaping and can allow your garage door to work just fine.
