Land Rover Discovery 3 Rear Door Lock Problem

My land rover discovery 2 tailgate trunk rear door is stuck shut.

From memory it was something to do with the door latching mechanism on its way out so sometimes when you lock the car it won t lock because the door latch appears to be open. The only way to open them is reach over and pull the latch. He replaced the setup which comes as a kit was around 600 fitted. 320 00 per door plus labor.

This is usually the release cable that has broken it has an l shaped piece at the end which breaks at the base of the l new cable mechanism from lr cost 30ish. I had to do it when my disco 1 s central locking died. Seems odd to me that all three doors have to be fixed. I had this exact problem a while back.

So the land rover mechnic says all three doors locks need to be replaced. I took it yo my mechanic who new what it was without looking at it.
