The kenmore front loading automatic washer automatically locks when a wash cycle is currently in progress and prevents accidental opening of the washer s door until the cycle is finished.

Tie the end of the string in a knot once it s completely wrapped around the door.
Slide the string or wire under the door edge starting on the latch side keeping hold of each end of the string.
Pull the string by both ends toward the hinge side until the latch is released and door pops open.
You need to tie the line on the side of the machine that is opposite to the lock.
To access this tab unplug the washer and remove the bottom front service panel as shown in the first image below.
