Kenmore Stove Door Locked

Wait about 15 seconds for the door to finish unlocking.

Hold the door switch in so that the oven thinks the door is closed and then start the oven into self clean. Shop all oven door lock assemblies. Press and hold stop clear for 3 seconds. Ask your own appliance question.

If no food or utensils are in the oven start a self clean cycle then hit clear off after 60 seconds. If there is food in the oven let the oven cool to room temperature and try to unlatch the door.

Instead of trying to open it check the display panel again. Modern kenmore ovens have a motorized lock that doesn t shut off automatically. Press the start button on the keypad once. It should also be replaced whenever the child lock out isn t working.

Move the locking lever situated just below the oven door handle to the left if your kenmore has a mechanical lock. If the the door won t lock during the self clean cycle or won t unlock after self cleaning the assembly is most likely broken. Stop it shortly after the self clean cycle starts. Open the door to resume normal operation.

Range oven door won t unlock. Once you see the time of day displayed on the screen you can open the oven door. The oven door has been locked accidentally. It will change once the door finishes unlocking.

This will reset the oven back to the factory default settings. If you have a stove that won t lock or won t allow you use the self clea. Once the oven door is locked the door locked indicator will stop flashing and remain on along with the lock icon light.
