It is possible to change the join order.
Join roof tool revit.
We want to join this face to the roof.
If revit says it will not join and it turns orange then possibly the apex of the smaller roof is slightly above the main roof apex.
Select the main roof then click on dormer walls and roof.
With the join unjoin roof tool selected you need to click on the line of the roof which is on the face of what you want to join to the other roof.
Located in the architecture tab this tool is used to create a dormer shaped hole in the main roof.
Go back to the modify tab.
Use the join geometry tool in the modify tab to join the walls together.
Select the first geometry to join for example a wall face.
Enjoy the videos and music you love upload original content and share it all with friends family and the world on youtube.
Click modify tab geometry panel join unjoin roof.
I normally would make the smaller roof as an extrusion and leave the end short of the apex of the larger roof so that you can use the join roof tool to indicate the end of the extruded roof and then the main roof.
This tool is located in the modify tab.
Select an edge of the roof that you want to join and then select the wall or roof to which you want to join the roof.
Click the join dropdown menu and select switch join order.
Use join unjoin roof tool.
Create a dormer opening.
To exit the tool click modify or press esc.
Select the second geometry to join to the first for example an edge of a floor.
I ve zoomed in closely here hoping that you can see.
The first wall you click using the tool has priority meaning the material layers inside the core boundary will go through the other wall.
