Pull the door back from the oven while simultaneously lifting it.

The hinges will slide free from the oven s frame so keep a firm grasp on the door. In order to begin replacing your hinges you ll need to remove the door. Start by applying a pair of gloves and using a slot screwdriver to unlock the tabs or hinge latches on either side of the door. Line up the hinges in the oven slots hold the door so that it will move flat against the oven and gently push all the way in.

Lift the door away from the oven to remove it. I feared forcing the hinge open and could not find any videos showing how to unfr. Applying a general purpose grease or high temperature oil to the hinge stops the squeaks and won t melt away when heated. The squeaking is caused by the metal parts of the hinges rubbing together when the door is opened and closed.

The top will not close perfectly yet. The hinges on an oven door heat up when the oven is in use. When this happens the hinges begin to squeak. Close the door back up until it reaches the broil stop position which is only about 1 4 of the way open.

Over the years the factory applied lubricant or oil gradually wears off the hinges.
