An inverted roof is a form of flat roof where the waterproof layer is beneath the insulation rather than above it. Stylite inverted roof insulation boards are manufactured from high density expanded polystyrene eps and can be used with any inverted roof system. This is achieved by placing isoboard extruded polystyrene insulation board above instead of below the waterproofing membrane. An inverted roof is quite simply where the waterproofing layer is installed over the structural deck rather than over the insulation.
